Islander Resort wedding in Islamorada, FL- Lesley and Christian

Updated: Feb 14

As a wedding photographer, I love the fact that two people who love each other trust me to share their story and capture their loving, intimate moments. I felt incredible when Lesley and Christian came forward to share their story with me and trusted me to capture their wedding – and, most importantly, their vows which they told each other in private.

Lesley and Christian got married at the Islander Wedding Resort in Islamorada, Florida – a wonderful venue with so many beautiful locations to capture the beauty of their wedding. Our first stop was the Outrigger Suite, where the bride got ready with her bridesmaids. I found Lesley in a cute white robe with all the bridesmaids in their light green silk night suits. Everyone was smiling, getting their make-up and hair done, all excited for the big day.

While we were here, Christian got ready in his room after which we brought the two out for their first look. As Lesley walked toward Christian for the first look, she was nervous, excited, and almost giddy, but it was all worth it when she saw Christian’s expression. He was in awe and looked like he had fallen in love all over again when he saw her in that gorgeous white dress.

Our next stop was the North Beach, which was all set for the ceremony. The location, décor and beautiful blue ocean in the background were the perfect addition to their fairy tale wedding. The colorful flowers and the band playing slow music were what we needed to set the vibe – it was romantic, emotional and absolutely wonderful when the two tied the knot and kissed for the first time as bride and groom.

However, as the ceremony was over and the sun went down – the vibe transformed completely! We headed to the lawn behind the ceremony location for the reception, which was all set for the party!

Lesley and Christian are true party animals – they met for the first time at a party too, so it all made sense when the two danced their hearts out at their reception. It was undoubtedly a fun-filled night, and we loved to see everyone enjoying and dancing through the night!
